Wednesday 30th April

What an exciting day!
We started off with our swimming lesson at Oundle Pool. We are very lucky as every class in our school goes swimming at Oundle School Pool.
We were pretty tired when we returned but we challenged ourselves with some maths games. In the afternoon we worked with Frankie to produce a banner for Elton May Day. Then it was time for some hockey coaching with Rob and gymnastics club after school.
Lots of us stayed for Mrs Dunkley’s After a School Club which is great fun! lots of us play exciting games, try art and craft activities and Mrs Dunkley makes sure we have super healthy and yummy snacks and drinks!

Tuesday 29th April

During numeracy last week we set our maths goals and most of us decided we would like to challenge ourselves with division. We found apparatus around our class that we thought might help us and discussed this.
Some of us looked at grouping and halving using Numicon and remainders while others recapped calculation strategies. Two year 3’s even worked with hundreds of thousands!

We investigated other places called Warmington and found Warmington in Oxfordshire . We used Google maps to look around and found out that it was about the same size as our village but hadn’t got a school, even though it has a road called School Lane. Their pub is called The Plough. They have a village pond and their houses are made of ironstone.

Amazing Alice in Wonderland Sharing Day

On Friday 4th April, all of Warmington School visited Titchmarsh School for a fun-filled day of Alice in Wonderland based activities.
Have a look at the brilliant pictures Mrs Rhodes took of us all. You will also be able to spot us in our fantastic costumes and some of the teachers and staff from Titchmarsh and Warmington who really made a big effort with their costumes too!

Wednesday 2nd April

We taught each other card games this morning as some of us had learnt to play while others were at the Oundle Festival yesterday. Mrs Hazell came in to spend some time with us and got to know some of our routines.

One of Foxes class brought in a badger’s scull to show us. We saw the sharp teeth the badger used to tear meat.

We went to the church to meet our ‘host families’. You can tell from our photos that some of us were really sad or even scared to be evacuated! We now have our identity cards with us that have to be carried with us at all times. We will write to you soon with our news!

Mrs Turner’s son Matthew (an ex-pupil of Warmington School came into Badgers to give us a talk and presentation on D-Day and showed us his amazing models. we even had a quiz afterwards!
We hade bread pudding and spam sandwiches and jam sandwiches as part of our World War II cookery with Mrs Foley. We shared them with our friends and family after our presentation.
5 year 4’s took part in the Oundle Festival of Music and Drama. ” It was really fun” said Callie.
” It was a bit scary but I am glad I challenged myself ” said Luke.
Thank you to Mrs Way for transporting Badgers, Mrs Fisher for coaching them and Mrs Regan for attending the competition with them.
At the end of the day lots of family members came to watch our presentation on World War II. We sang ‘hang out the washing on the Seigfreid Line’ and ‘Run Rabbit, Run’. We shared our learning to our audience.

Some of us brought in evacuee suitcases. Callie’s was really special. It was the case her grandad had when he was in the Merchant Navy and he had painted a very beautiful picture of a ship inside the lid- a very treasured family heirloom that we all thought was amazing!
