We looked briefly at ‘RUCSAC’ to help us with our multiplication word problems.

20150930-132943-48583429.jpgWe also practiced singing our harvest assembly songs before getting ready for cross country at Prince William School- we will be amazing!

As scientists we wrote up one of our experiments from yesterday. We know it’s important to record our results correctly.

We started our story maps for our new writing topic about diaries. Some of our actions are very funny!
Our resident scientist Mrs Campo showed us an amazing experiment with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. She made a balloon blow up by mixing the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and making carbon dioxide.
We saw a video of survival expert Ray Mears making a natural filter with charcoal and moss. Some of the Beavers had made filters last night so were also survival experts! We gathered our materials for making our filters.
We took our solutes of sand, soil, sugar, custard powder, cocoa, flour and salt and tried to dissolve them. How many of us made solutions?
We made predictions on whether we could turn our solutions beck into a solid, then had fun with filtering!
One of Badgers had a fun trip to London at the weekend and showed us the souvenirs from the Science Museum and HMS Belfast. This led to a big discussion on the difference between HMS ships and RMS ships, like The Titanic.

Some of us (including Mrs Campo) saw the lunar eclipse last night so we learnt all about that and saw some amazing photos!
In our SPAG group we worked on recognising and using the best adjectives. Our spelling list had the words chalet and chaise so we found out what they are.
We thought about all the different reasons people go to other countries and found out that quite a lot of people in our families have lived abroad. We watched some very old film of The Titanic and started to learn about why people were travelling them, and the different classes of cabins.
In art club with Ms Wells and Mrs Claypole we learnt how to weave coasters with wool with amazing results!

What a wonderful day!
Sarah from The Dog’s Trust came to tell us all about dogs and we learnt how to handle a dog well. She bought in a black Labrador cross called Lila. She came into Badgers and we learnt lots more.
It was also Katherine the cooks last day cooking at Warmington. We made her cards and she was presented with some flowers. We will miss you Katherine, come back and visit us soon!
